A big part of my own journey toward health rooted in self-care has been sports. Competing is a passion of mine, but sports have given me so much more than race results. They’ve helped me build confidence, care for my body, connect with others, and appreciate what proper nourishment allows us to accomplish. This experience inspires my approach to sports nutrition: helping people at every level fuel their goals while building a healthier, more positive relationship with food and their bodies.
Hi! I’m Emily Hamocon, M.S., Registered Dietitian Nutritionist. I created Food and Mirth because food should be at the heart of how we care for our health. Food brings us joy, connects us with our communities, and has a powerful impact on our well-being. Building a healthier relationship with food can be truly life-changing!
I believe in a holistic approach to health. Together, we’ll create a personalized plan that supports your nutrition, sleep, stress management, fitness, and connection with your communities.
My goal is to make caring for yourself feel approachable, empowering, and sustainable. We’ll focus on realistic changes that fit your life rather than chasing perfection.
You deserve a plan that helps you feel nourished, confident, and connected to what brings you joy.
Let me support you.
With me, your nutrition goals will be reached through a lens of self care. You will see that you do not need strict food rules to eat healthy, attain your goals and live out your intentions! Yes, you can make healthy changes without going on a diet. I’ve got you.
I know how gruesome diet culture can be: forcing you to think something is wrong with your body or that you can’t be happy until you lose weight. The fact is that 97% of diets fail. How does diet culture get all of us to invest our money, lives and well being into something that has a 3% success rate?? Counseling with me means a lot of nutrition education, you will learn what dietitians know about the body which will help you make mindful decisions. Remember, you have not failed, the diets have failed you.
